First Day!

Well, my first day certainly calmed any and all anxiety I might have had going into the CVICU.  My nervousness was much more at ease after a recent conversation that I had with my little sister Andi.  On the Thursday before my first shift, I was telling Andi and my dad how nervous I was about going to CVICU and not really feeling prepared. 

This is our conversation:

Andi said, "You'll do fine."

I said, "What do you know?"

And she proceeds with, "Don't worry---pray."

 

It was so cute and so true.  Then, she quoted to me her own paraphrased version of Matthew 6:34.

Matthew 6:34

"Therefore don't worry about tomorrow,

because tomorrow will worry about itself.

Each day has enough trouble of its own."

My mind was blown, not only because of her ability to scripture and how much I needed to hear that, but also because God has been really pressing this message upon my heart for a while now.  With that being said, I prayed.

My first day, was filled with cute little infants, getting quizzed by the night shift nurse who was giving my nurse and I shift report, painting, and learning the woes of G-tube feeding.
